As always, the NDK AMV Contest never fails to impress us every year. This year's entries were great and even came from 17 different countries! The content can truly be considered an International AMV contest now. Minus the couple technical glitches here and there during the showing, it was a smooth performance, and provided some amazing entertainment for Saturday's afternoon. So, without further adieu... let's just into reporting the winners of the amazing contest!
You guys better get ready! All our NDK content is currently being processed right now. This year has by far been the most amount of content we've had to go through. And as I mentioned before, we are going to be doing more and more video content from now on as well. But, first we're going to slowly start uploading what we all you know you want to see... Cosplay pictures! Be on the lookout for the next couple of days as all our new content and photos are being uploaded. Also, remember that if you like us on Facebook and share it on your wall, then you will be entered in a chance to win a free Black Rock Shooter Nendoroid!
Simply put, we got sick of our old website design, so we created a new one! Just in time for NDK, too! This new site design features a much darker theme that goes a little easier on the nice. Especial for all that late night reading that all of us are accustomed to. But, I think the best feature and the feature we've most proud of is the new and redesigned Gallery, which provides much easier navigation as well as slideshow functionality, comments, and social networking! In addition to the interface overhaul, we have split the Photography section into two parts. First, we have the General/Convention photography section which is where all our traditional convention photos. But, now we also have a dedicated second for cosplay photoshoots! Anyways, it's probably best for you to check it out yourself, so go take a look, and let us know on the comments below!
Anyone otaku who is active on Facebook will know that its a very common trend for cosplayers to name their Facebook accounts like _____ Cosplay. To many, having a real FB account has added benifits over a Facebook "page", such as the ability to maintain friends, rather than likes. However, as of this morning, it looks like Facebook has performed a completely purge of all accounts that have the name "Cosplay" in it without any warning.
Here comes that... amazing time of the year again! Nan Desu Kan 2012. Even though it's smaller and more local than most cons, it's our local con and still our favorite! Of course, we'll be there to cover the events, panels, and cosplay! Keep your eye out for us! We'll probably be handing out postcards and flyers and stuff. This year we're shooting big on coverage expecially in the video field! Anyways, we're super super excited and hope to see all you there!
So, anyone who knows me knows that I pretty much obsess over Odottemita videos. Aka "I Tried Dancing It Videos". If you haven't heard of these, it's a very popular type of video amongst Japanese internet culture where people post videos of themselves dancing to popular songs onto sites like Youtube or NicoNico. They are surprisingly entertaining to watch and fun to share! So from here on, I'm going to start sharing my personal favorite odottemita videos with you guys and hope you will like it to!
Stardock, the company known to making Windows into a heaven for people who love to customize their systems to the max, has just release a new product. With the removal of the Start Button and Menu in Windows 8, Microsoft has yanked out something that has been iconic for Windows all the way back from Windows 95, leaving some of us power-users feeling like something is missing. But it seems like I'm not the only one in grief, and it looks like the folks over at Stardock has the skills to do something about it for us all. Meet their new program Start8, which does two simple things: it brings back a Windows 7 styled Start Button and minimizes the Metro Start screen to a smaller box where the old Start Menu would be.
